24:21 The phrase translated gods (Hebrew tseba’ hammarom, “armed host of the heavens”) might refer to pagan gods represented by the stars. It might also refer to the angels or even demons (Rev 12:4, 9). Judgment will extend to all parts of creation (Isa 13:13; 34:5; see Eph 6:11-12).
