18:38 Son of David is a title for the Messiah, a descendant of David who would reign on David’s throne forever (see 1:32-33; 2 Sam 7:11-16; Isa 9:6-7; 11:1-5; Jer 23:5-6; 33:15-16; Ezek 37:24-25).
