The Covenants of Scripture
Five covenants form the spine of the Bible's story — each one a binding promise God makes, building on the last. Read in order, they trace the whole arc from Noah to the New Testament.
Noahic Covenant
The rainbow, given as the sign of a promise never to destroy the earth by flood again.
Mosaic Covenant
Given at Sinai — conditional on obedience, unlike the unconditional promise to Abraham.
Davidic Covenant
A promise of a throne "established for ever" — the root of later Messianic hope.
New Covenant
A law written on the heart rather than on stone — quoted directly in Hebrews as fulfilled in Christ.
