The Deity of Christ

The New Testament doesn't just call Jesus a great teacher or a prophet — in a handful of direct statements, scripture identifies him as God himself, alongside a prophecy that named the coming Messiah the same way centuries earlier. Each entry is a verse that makes the claim plainly, in its own words.
The Word was God
The Word became flesh
"Before Abraham was, I am"
Thomas's confession — "My Lord and my God"
The fullness of the Godhead, bodily
"Our great God and Saviour"
The Father addresses the Son as God
Prophesied centuries earlier as "The mighty God"
"I am Alpha and Omega... the Almighty"
